Wes Bailey

Founder & Co-President

I am probably best known as the CEO of SirReel, a well-recognized rental house in Los Angeles, which I founded in 1996. During the pandemic, I founded G8Check, a company that helped get Los Angeles productions back to work. G8Check oversaw thousands of shoot days across the United States, Europe, and Africa. I have worked on film crews for nearly 25 years, doing everything from PA to Transportation Captain.

Co-President

I grew up in the biz, repping directors, editors, and creative talent in commercials, before tech and nonprofit life pulled me toward advocating for diversity on set via FREE THE WORK. Now, at Maven, we connect artists with brands to expand creative works, from exhibitions to product lines. Through Working Insights, we champion independent talent behind the camera. Board member for Black Entertainment Economic Council, Green the Bid, McDonald’s, and GSD&M. Honored to have received the Emerging Leader Award from the Ms. Foundation.

I have been in & out of the commercial world for 15 years!  I love every minute of it and want to see it restored to where it belongs. This industry is my home… there is nothing quite like it!

Marie Dunaway

Vice President

A producer born, raised and residing in LA, my background consists of producing high level commercial campaigns, music videos, film/tv promos and short form content. Having started my career path in the entertainment industry at Steve Golin’s Propaganda and Satellite Films in the mid 1990’s, my exposure to the many facets of the industry is broad and wide, leading me to produce and collaborate with many of the A-list bi-coastal and global commercial production shops representing a diverse array of talent that include feature film and television directors, writers and producers servicing global brands such as Apple, Nissan, Call of Duty, Coca Cola, Bank of America and the like.

I’ve been a Los Angeles based Script Supervisor for nearly 40 years. I have worked on films with the likes of David Lynch and David Fincher, in addition to having thousands of commercials under my belt. Last year a commercial producer friend told me she hadn’t shot in LA for years due to the tax incentives in other states, such as GA and NY.  Meanwhile, commercial work in LA is continuing to dwindle as many friends are  having trouble making ends meet.  This set me on a mission to start a petition to get the voices of over 5000 commercial crew members and vendors to be  heard in Sacramento. Now with the help of CA UNITED and motivated volunteers, I  feel like we can GET IT DONE with smart incentives that include commercials!
